This free community event celebrates San Diego County’s diverse native wildlife and natural areas. Thousands of San Diegans will be able to meet with dozens of environmental and animal welfare groups such as Project Wildlife, Chula Vista Nature Center, the National Wildlife Federation, San Diego Turtle and Tortoise Society, Sky Hunters, The San Diego Natural History Museum, Wildlife Assist, Bat Rescue, San Diego Humane Society, Department of Fish and Game and many more.

Increasing public awareness is the key to teaching the citizens of San Diego County how to coexist with our native wildlife and lessen the human impact on the environment. Every year Project Wildlife invites the public to meet some of its wild neighbors and the community groups that work to protect our natural areas and promote animal welfare.

"We want to provide a fun learning environment that will benefit both wildlife and the residents of San Diego," said Ruth Hayward, President of Project Wildlife. "This event is great for every member of the family to meet an actual screech owl and other native species. Our goal is to celebrate our natural treasures while also offering crucial information on how to help wildlife after Fire Storm 2003."

Project Wildlife is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of orphaned and injured wildlife. Each year, Project Wildlife gives a second chance to over 10,000 birds and mammals. Further, it strives to foster respect and appreciation for wildlife and natural habitats and to educate the general public on environmental issues.
